FAQ
Here are the answers to the questions we are asked most often. For anything else, contact the workshop.
The watches
What makes a Layer Production watch different?
Its material. The dial, bezel and crown of each model are cut from a rare material borrowed from collector's knife-making: Damascus steel, forged carbon fibre, Mokuti (titanium Damascus), Superconductor or crystallised titanium. These materials create patterns that never repeat exactly: two watches of the same model never look quite the same.
How many pieces are produced?
Each model is produced in a limited series of 200 pieces, and every piece is numbered.
Which movement powers the watches?
A Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement (21 jewels, power reserve of around 42 hours, automatic and manual winding), visible through the sapphire caseback.
What are the case dimensions?
43 mm in diameter and 13 mm thick. The case is machined from solid 316L stainless steel, closed with six screws, with sapphire crystal on both the front and the back.
Is the watch water-resistant?
Yes, to 5 ATM (50 metres): rain, splashes and hand-washing are no problem. It is not designed for swimming or diving, however. See our advice on the Warranty & care page.
Which strap is supplied?
Each watch comes with an adjustable genuine leather strap.
Where are the watches assembled?
The watches are assembled and checked in France.
What is the link with Layer Watches?
Layer Production is the limited-edition line of the Layer Watches workshop: the same materials and the same standards, in a numbered series at a single price.
Do you offer engraving or bespoke projects?
Contact us to discuss it. Please note: a personalised piece (engraving, one-off build) can then be neither exchanged nor returned.

How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is free in France. For other destinations, shipping costs are shown at checkout, before you confirm your order. All parcels are tracked and handed over against signature.
What if the parcel arrives damaged?
Note your reservations with the carrier, photograph the parcel and its contents, then write to us straight away: we will handle the claim. See our shipping policy.
Returns and warranty
Can I change my mind after receiving the watch?
Yes. You have fourteen days from receipt to notify us of your return. The watch must be sent back complete, with its accessories and documents; return shipping costs are at your expense. The refund is made within fourteen days of notification, once the watch has been received or proof of shipment provided. Details in our refund policy.
What is the warranty?
Your watch is covered by the two-year legal warranty of conformity and the warranty against hidden defects. The exclusions (knocks, use beyond the water-resistance rating, unauthorised opening, normal wear) and how to make a claim are set out on the Warranty & care page.
Care
How do I look after my watch?
A soft, dry cloth for the case, no immersion and no solvents, and a movement service every three to five years. All our advice, including how to set the date and time, is on the Warranty & care page.
